a newspaper website has reported that Search Engine Giant Google
will build a EUR250 million facility in Belgium, according
to an article on MarketWatch.
The data center will be located in an economically depressed area
that was once a coal mining region and will be near the city of
Mons and employing about 120 people according to unnamed Belgian
official and Peter Fleischer, Official at Google.
April 24, 2007- A
brand consulting firm, Millward Brown, deems Google to
be the most powerful brand with a value of $66.4 billion
followed by General Electric ($69.1 billion) and Microsoft ($54.9
billion), according to a report from Information Week. Several
factors determine the top ranked brands such as market valuations,
the brand's risk profile, the brand's potential for growth and
a multi-faceted formula derived from loyal users.
April 20, 2007- Ask.com
has joined Google and Yahoo in "autodiscovery" where
sitemaps are automatically included for crawling
when the directive is given in the robots.txt. Microsoft Live
Search has stated they will support the technology but yet appears
to not have meen implemented. The following line to the robots.txt
will tell the search engines that a sitemap is included:

Ask.com is also supporting submissions
through the following URL:
http://submissions.ask.com/ping?sitemap=SitemapUrl
This will be a helpful tool to use for
search engine optimization by allowing new pages
to be more quickly indexed.
April 16, 2007- Matt Cutts from Google
recently insuated that Google was going to filter
paid links and websites that offer paid links AND webmasters
that sought out paid links. SEO Metro remains firm that our company
